In Caldarola , in the province of Macerata , a small village near the National Park of Monti Sibillini , there are traces of a glorious past, which is revealed from the top of the fortifications of Castello Pallotta , built in the second half of the ninth century on the slopes of the hill called Colcù and subsequently amended at the end of the sixteenth century .

A visit to the castle is a wonderful experience to do with the little ones: guided tours are organized periodically. In addition to programs for schools , primary and secondary schools , which includes educational workshops that are organized in a guided tour of the castle and to the participation of different activities for themes and age , you can also visit it yourself, with your family. Especially in the summer they organize specific days that are focused on a particular historical period : the Middle Ages , the Renaissance, the nineteenth century , with figures and re-enactments of the life of the time. In particular, last summer we stayed at the Castle on the occasion of ” MEDIEVAL CASTLE PALLOTTA”. In the park of the castle , in the shadow of the ancient walls and mature trees, young bridesmaids and skilled drummers, blacksmiths, carpenters and soldiers armed to the teeth enlivened the court of Messer Jacopo del Castello Pallotta regent from 1440 . For the youngest medieval games were set up in the garden and they could have horseback riding as true knights !
Not suitable for strollers and wheelchairs . To visit the structure , it would be good to bring pouch.
